In
honor of James F. Walsh,
we (his family and friends) have established this foundation,
dedicated to promoting research, awareness and early detection
of Pancreatic Cancer.
Jim
Walsh, the inspiration for the Foundation's efforts, died
5 months after his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. In those
five months he showed us the true meaning of courage, dignity,
hope and faith.
Pancreatic
cancer is the fourth most common cause of cancer-related
deaths in both men and women in the United States. This year
(2009), roughly 35,000 people will be diagnosed with pancreatic
cancer in the United States.
