In
honor of James F. Walsh,
we (his family and friends) have established this foundation,
dedicated to promoting research, awareness and early detection
of Pancreatic Cancer.
Jim
Walsh, the inspiration for the Foundation's efforts, died
5 months after his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. In those
five months he showed us the true meaning of courage, dignity,
hope and faith.
Pancreatic
cancer is the ninth or tenth most commonly diagnosed cancer
in the United States. Though pancreatic cancer is initially
difficult to detect, approximately 43,000 people living in the
United States are diagnosed each year.
